September 27, 2025 Creating a Life of Meaning This week’s study of Randy Pausch’s Last Lecture was both inspiring and humbling. I believe one of the primary reasons Randy Pausch was able to achieve many of his childhood dreams was his unique combination of persistence, optimism, and creativity. He didn’t just stop when he encountered an obstacle; he looked for another way around it. He also emphasized the importance of “brick walls,” which exist not to keep us out, but to test how badly we want something. This mindset gave him the resilience to pursue his dreams with determination and joy, even when the path was not easy. When I was younger, I did not have dreams. I was living life one day at a time, doing what everyone else was doing, with no bigger goals besides finishing basic school and getting married.
